Brief: We were commissioned by Ubisoft to source and deliver the music for the big E3 launch of Assassins Creed Syndicate, to be seen by millions worldwide. Being that the game is set in England, they wanted us to find a very current track from a big, British artist that fitted the attitude and vibe of the game.
Solution: We worked closely with the Assassins Creed marketing team and other teams from Ubisoft in different territories to find the perfect track. We went through numerous tracks and rounds of approval process with various stakeholders and delivered a great track. The E3 trailer was over 4 minutes and required a very specific arrangement so we commissioned and arranged further work on the track, using an artist that had commercially remixed the track and also a experienced composer of trailers from our friends over at Delicious Digital. We delivered 2 minutes of additional bespoke music, written around our selected track, as well as a new and exclusive mix of the track – ‘In The Heat of The Moment’ Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds.
Results: A fantastic trailer with over 10 million views across several editions of the release. This trailer created a huge amount of interest at E3 and beyond; the track may be used across further assets in the build up to the much anticipated release of the game. Following this success we were engaged to use a similar formula for the US TVC for the launch of the game where we created a bespoke version of ‘London Calling’ by The Clash.
